Eve Llyndorah - Artist Statement
Painting is a contemplative lifestyle imbued with an appreciation of the transience of the seasons and a reverence for the fragility of the earth.
I see an empty canvas as a doorway to infinity...form finding shape...shadows playing with light...layers weaving pathways, seeking balance, tension, places to rest...expression through abstraction, the essence of a moment defined in paint. Being surrounded by the ocean and nature has deeply influenced my work. As I consciously move toward inner stillness, awareness expands and with that the possibility of deep listening. Here is where the real dialogue starts and the painting begins to speak.
I am drawn to explore themes such as Gateways, Passages, the Flowering of the Lotus, the Birth of a Butterfly as metaphors for transcendence; ongoing is the contemplation of light, duality, reflections, transformation, impermanence…. Painting is a place to dream, to search for the ineffable...for me it is an inner journey and paint an expansive medium;
The gift…to discover a language of the soul.
